ChatGPT, DeepL, LanguageTool – these (AI-powered) writing tools and others like them can generate text, suggest literature, provide immediate translations, and correct your style and grammar with impressive accuracy. But how can you use them effectively while adhering to the high standards of academic integrity your professors expect and, critically, what are these technologies' limitations? This workshop will cover the basics of what these tools can and cannot do and how they do it. Additionally, you will gain practical knowledge from the workshop: you will analyze and critically engage texts generated by an AI chatbot, try out a few AI-powered tools, and discuss their application in your own writing process.

This workshop is open to all students.
Are there ways we can make it easier for you to participate in our workshops (e.g., by taking regular short breaks, using a large font size in our presentations, sending you the presentations with image descriptions in advance, etc.)? Please contact us as early as possible at schreibzentrum@uni-frankfurt.de, stating the workshop you would like to attend, and we will try to find a solution to your request!
Please use the registration form for all courses and workshops. The registration deadline is seven days before the workshop begins. IMPORTANT: If you register for one of our workshops at short notice, you will not automatically receive access to the OLAT course, where the location and other important information are communicated and all materials are uploaded. In this case, please be sure to contact us at schreibzentrum@uni-frankfurt.de so that we can send you the link and password for the OLAT course.
The registration form for our courses and workshops is released on April 1 for the summer semester and on October 1 for the winter semester.
